Truck Loan Calculator
Determine your truck loan payment based on your purchase price or find out how much you can buy based on your monthly payment.
How the truck loan calculator works
It treats a truck purchase like any vehicle loan: tax and fees on top of the price, less your down payment and trade equity, with the financed balance amortized across your term.
Worked example: with truck price of $48,000, monthly payment of $864 and cash down payment of $6,000, the truck loan calculator shows estimated monthly payment of $781.17.
- Truck price
- $48,000
- Amount financed
- $45,180
- Sales tax
- $2,880
- Total interest
- $11,064
The formula
Financed = price + tax + fees − down − trade equity. Payment = financed × r ÷ (1 − (1 + r)⁻ⁿ).

Questions about the truck loan calculator
Are truck loans different from car loans?
The financing math is identical. Trucks simply tend to carry higher prices and sometimes longer terms, so the interest stakes are larger.
Can I deduct truck-loan interest?
If the truck is used for business, a portion of the interest may be deductible. Personal-use vehicle interest is not. Check with a tax professional.
How much should I put down on a truck?
Enough to avoid being underwater as it depreciates — 10–20% is common. More down lowers both the payment and total interest.
Is the Truck Loan Calculator free to use?
Yes. Every calculator on FinCalculators is completely free, with no sign-up, login or paywall. You can run as many scenarios as you like.
